The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has discontinued the Hazardous Seas Alert for the country on Sunday at 9:53 AM.
Over the last several days, strong winds across offshore areas have produced open-water waves up to 3.5 meters, mainly east and north of Trinidad and Tobago.
“Sea conditions around Trinidad and Tobago have been improving, with waves now reaching up to 2.0m in open waters and less than 1.0m in sheltered areas,” according to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service.
The alert’s color indicates the event’s severity and probability of the event occurring. Currently, the alert level is at Green, as the discontinuation was issued, and the certainty is observed (or very likely).
According to the TTMS, public safety, livelihoods, and property are at low risk at this level.
The Met Office advises the public to monitor sea conditions, exercise caution, and monitor updates from official sites.
