After three days of persistent rainfall, conditions are set to gradually settle across Trinidad and Tobago today. However, sporadic pockets of rain with islolated heavy showers and the odd thunderstorm are forecast, predominatly affecting eastern and southern Trinidad through this (Tuesday) afternoon. A mostly settled Wednesday and Thursday is forecast, barring the typical Wet Season afternoon showers and thunderstorms favoring western and hilly areas.

— What has happened: Over the last month, Trinidad and Tobago has received copious amounts of rainfall accumulation with river levels running elevated and soils very saturated. Heavy rains began overnight Saturday across both islands with flooding and landslides reported across much of Trinidad. November 2022 has officially become the wettest November on record for Trinidad.
— What can you expect: Isolated to scattered periods rainfall as a result of rain, showers and thunderstorms, gradually subsiding by the mid-afternoon, interrupting mostly cloudy to cloudy skies Street, flash flooding and riverine flooding are expected. Gusty winds up to and in excess of 50 KM/H accompanying heavy showers or thunderstorms are likely, with gusts up to or above 55 KM/H possible, accompanying thunderstorms and heavy showers. Lightning will accompany thunderstorms. Landslides, mudslides, and rockfalls are likely across Tobago and elevated areas of Trinidad.
