As of 8:00 AM Thursday 16th May 2019, mostly sunny skies are occurring across Trinidad and Tobago. Across Eastern Trinidad and Tobago, partly cloudy skies are occurring. Isolated showers are forecast by late morning through the afternoon, favoring Eastern Trinidad and Tobago initially, with a few isolated showers possible, moving across the remainder of Trinidad. A settled night ahead for both islands with the low chance of a brief, isolated shower.
An Atlantic high-pressure system continues to dominate weather conditions across Trinidad and Tobago, bringing generally breezy and settled conditions to the islands. A few isolated showers are possible due to low-level clouds moving across the islands, mainly across and near Eastern Trinidad and Tobago. By the late morning through the afternoon, partly cloudy skies are forecast across both islands. Mostly settled conditions are forecast into the late evening and night with the odd isolated shower, generally remaining light to moderate and brief.
Winds have slightly decreased, with gusts to 50 KM/H at times, mainly during the afternoon. Saharan dust is present in mild to moderate concentrations across Trinidad and Tobago and is forecast to remain in place over the next week.
With wind gusts up to 50 KM/H, whole trees can be in motion and there may be some inconvenience when walking against the wind gusts. Light outdoor objects may topple or become airborne such as garbage cans, loose galvanize or construction material and other outdoor furniture. Tents may jump. Winds are forecast to lessen as the week progresses.

Similar temperatures are likely through the next three days, with maximum high temperatures forecast to be near 33°C at Piarco, Trinidad, and 32°C at Crown Point, Tobago. Heat indices may top at 38°C at Piarco, Trinidad and 35°C at Crown Point, Tobago. The heat index is an index that combines air temperature and relative humidity, generating a “feel’s like” temperature.
Seas are forecast to remain moderate in open waters through the week. Waves in open waters are forecast up to 2.0 meters, particularly East of Trinidad and Tobago over the next 24 hours. In sheltered areas, seas are forecast to remain smooth, below 1.0 meters. Winds will be from the east through the next several days at 10-15 knots from the east.
