This triggered an island-wide power dip across Trinidad, with electricity supply for customers on that substation interrupted.

T&TEC is in the process of transferring affected customers to other substations to restore supply.

Parts of Lower and Eastern Port of Spain are without power as of 7:30 PM.

Dips have been reported across parts of Northern, Central, and Southern Trinidad.

This follows from an electrical fire is being blamed for a partial blackout across Port of Spain between 11:15 AM and 1:15 PM.

The power outage extends as far west as Ariapita Avenue, east as Woodford Square, north as Park Street and south as Independence Square.

According to fire officials, officers attached to the Wrightson Road Fire Station responded to the report of a fire at the Master Sub-Station located at Park Avenue, near PowerGen.
