The Hazardous Seas Alert Discontinuation
Seas are now moderate in open waters, with waves up to 2.0 meters. In sheltered areas, waves are less than 1.0 meter.
Trinidad and Tobago is NOT under any tropical storm threat, watch or warning.
“Strong winds associated with the passage of Tropical Storm Gonzalo no longer have any influence on the sea conditions in our area. Hazardous seas are no longer observed around the coastal and offshore waters of Trinidad and Tobago. Seas are currently moderate in open waters (near 2.0 m ) and less than 1.0 m in sheltered areas.” according to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service. This “alert discontinuation” status takes into account the possibility of the event occurring. This event, with moderate seas, has been observed.
