Adverse Weather Alert Discontinued, Tropical Wave 15 Still East of T&T

Adverse Weather Alert Discontinued

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has discontinued the Adverse Weather Alert as the impactful weather associated with the intertropical convergence zone, ahead of Tropical Wave 15, have dissipated.

“Most of the impactful weather has dissipated. however, persistent light showers accompanied by gusty winds may continue to affect a few areas.” according to the TTMS.

As the tropical wave moves across Trinidad and Tobago, the ITCZ is still forecast to remain across the islands, drifting southward. Hence, through tonight, isolated showers are possible, with the low chance of a thunderstorm favoring Trinidad but generally remaining offshore. A mild surge of Saharan Dust is forecast to return overnight following the passage of the wave.

Trinidad and Tobago is NOT under any tropical storm threat, watch or warning.

The color of the alert indicates the severity of the event and the probability of the event occurring. Currently, the alert level is at Green, as the Discontinuation was issued.
