Adverse Weather Alert Discontinued

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has discontinued the Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level) for Trinidad as rainfall subsided across the island. This was anticipated as a high-pressure ridge once again becomes the dominant feature going into the evening, with a decrease in atmospheric moisture. Still, brisk showers are possible.

Information from the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service concerning the Adverse Weather Alert Discontinuation for November 22nd, 2020.

According to the TTMS, “There has been gradual improvement in weather conditions. Rainfall has ceased in most areas. Cloudiness may persist but the atmosphere is becoming increasingly stable and more settled.

Trinidad and Tobago is NOT under any tropical storm threat, watch or warning.

The color of the alert indicates the severity of the event and the probability of the event occurring. Currently, the alert level is at Green, as the Discontinuation was issued.

The Forecast

Sunday: Stronger shower and any thunderstorm activity are forecast to remain east of T&T. Scattered showers and periods of rainfall are forecast to interrupt cloudy skies through Sunday, which is expected to be the wettest day of the weekend. Overall heavy rainfall will still favor Eastern Trinidad. Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms are likely during the late morning through the afternoon, mainly across Trinidad, accompanied by gusty winds. A break in activity will come by the late afternoon into the night, with brisk showers and light rain still possible.

Monday: Partly cloudy skies with brisk isolated showers possible during the late morning through the afternoon, with no significant rainfall totals expected. Gusty winds are possible.
