Live Updates: Gusty Winds Affecting T&T

A fast-moving tropical wave with a surge in low-level winds has moved across T&T as forecast.

Increased sustained winds up to 40 KM/H, with wind gusts in excess of 55 KM/H are likely. Winds of this strength may cause power dips/outages, downed trees, and localized wind damage. Frequent lightning may also accompany thunderstorms. Strong winds are forecast to agitate seas.

Though unlikely, brief heavy rainfall could trigger street or flash flooding across both islands over the next 24 hours. If heavy, persisting rainfall materializes, which is unlikely at this time, landslides are possible across the Northern Range and Tobago. Funnel clouds and waterspouts are unlikely.

An Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level) is in effect for Trinidad and surrounding marine areas from the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service from 10:30 AM Sunday through 6:30 PM Sunday. Trinidad and Tobago is not under a tropical storm watch or warning.
