Live Updates: Major, Damaging Earthquake Strikes Haiti

A major magnitude 7.2 earthquake has struck western Haiti with major damages reported. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued a threat message warning of tsunami waves between 1 to 3 meters for Haitian coasts. The USGS estimates that “the disaster is likely widespread” with “high casualties probable”.

There is no tsunami threat to the wider Caribbean Region, including Trinidad and Tobago at this time.
