“River levels have been slowly decreasing and this trend is expected to continue. A few showers are expected later today, however, they are unlikely to be significant enough to raise the river levels again. As such, floodwaters in the vicinity of the Caroni river basin, are expected to gradually subside as the day progresses.” according to the TTMS.

The color of the alert indicates the severity of the event and the probability of the event occurring. Currently, the alert level is at Green, as the discontinuation was issued.
At this level, minor impacts are anticipated. There is a negligible impact on human safety as assets are basically undamaged and income earning potential is unaffected.
The TTMS continues to advise the public to monitor updates from official sources and plan safety measures, including emergency supplies of food and water, and follow the instructions of government officials.
