Riverine Flood Alert Discontinued For Northern, Central Trinidad

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has discontinued the Riverine Flood Alert (Yellow Level) for Northern and Central Trinidad as river levels have been on the decline.

“River levels have been slowly decreasing and this trend is expected to continue. Occasional showers are expected, however they are unlikely to be significant enough to raise the river levels again.” according to the TTMS.

Trinidad and Tobago is NOT under any tropical storm threat, watch or warning.

The color of the alert indicates the severity of the event and the probability of the event occurring. Currently, the alert level is at Green, as the discontinuation was issued.

At this level, minor impacts are anticipated. There is a negligible impact on human safety as assets are basically undamaged and income earning potential is unaffected.

The TTMS continues to advise the public to monitor updates from official sources and plan safety measures, including emergency supplies of food and water, and follow the instructions of government officials.
