“Sea conditions around Trinidad and Tobago have been improving, with waves reaching up to 2.5m in open waters and less than 1.0m in sheltered areas.” according to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service. This “alert discontinuation” status takes into account the possibility of the event occurring. This alert level is observed.
The color of the alert indicates the severity of the event and the probability of the event occurring. Currently, the alert level is at green. This means that there is now a negligible impact on human safety and assets are basically undamaged, hence the hazardous seas alert was discontinued.
